this picture was taken 4 months ago (to the day!!!) when this dude & i were in the throws of our first of hopefully many @tiff_net’s together. i love it because we both look delirious // giddy // like we’re backstage at some sort of martian vaudeville review. we happened to have lunch together today 🌯 + i can’t stop thinking about how stinking lucky i am to have a rep that’s not only amazing at his job + helps me to do exactly what i want to be doing but who also meets me where i am as a human / artist + is such a great friend. anyway, shout out to russ. a true gem of a man. if you know him, you know you’re lucky.💎 📷: the incomparable @desireehasymons

light the lights— tonight’s the night! finally our precious + radical baby FORTUNATE SON ( #FortunateSonSeries) makes her debut on @cbc_television @ 9pm! the experience of making something with such giving + talented + spirited + deep thinking humans that also has the backing of an suuuuuuuper relevant history lesson / message that i think is very important to be revisiting within the context of our current world has made my little artist heart open + grow in ways i’d only dreamed of. i am so excited for the world to meet all of these incredible + inspiring characters + i personally am forever indebted to @wolfhouseone for writing ellen to be such a complex / opinionated / driven / intelligent young woman + for giving me the complete honour of playing her. here (past the poster featuring 3 angels) are some non-spoiler-y goodies + inspirations from season 1 in the making. please forgive poor quality. they are as follows: bobby kennedy campaign swag, our slightly stiff + difficult day call focus puller, jane fonda being sassy // giving ellen permission to talk back, a work look for ellen feat. eyeshadow w/ a presence i aspire to having, a still i found (not sure where!!!) that reminds me of ellen + travis (you’ll see), joan baez (who i listened you obsessively) + who’s jeans i asked we find similar pair for the junior ms. howard, classic example of stuff from the era i watched throughout the season (even inside a story this wrought i wanted to find things that would make ellen chuckle), ellen’s beginning of season 1 celeb crush holy hell who can blame her, joanne woodward speaking to a little spark inside of ellen // ellen’s end of season 1 celeb crush woooo girl look out + also hello to that little foot flick & that’s it!! i really really hope people are moved to wrestle with challenging feelings after watching tonight. i love everyone who gave this little bird wings & i really hope everyone digs it.
