When you want better for yourself, you will DO better. There isn’t a person in this world that can MAKE you be happy. You HAVE to learn to be happy with yourself, by yourself. I am in such an amazing space right now. Nothing is perfect, but I have a complete trust in God and myself that I am exactly where I am supposed to be in life. Nothing is actually going right in a lot of areas 😂, but the peace that I have had this year is unlike anything I’ve ever felt, and that is mostly because I’ve buckled down and disciplined myself to do what needed to be done. I have not had a drink in almost 5 months, I stopped going to places and being around people who drained me or who didn’t encourage me to be my best self, I started going back to church, I workout, I’ve continued therapy, I sleep, and I started saying “no” to what I wanted to say no to (this has made a lot of people made and IDGAS 🤷🏾‍♀️)! I’ve got some amazing songs from doing all of this, eliminating distractions and gaining focus. I say this to say, PUT YOURSELF FIRST. Even if you have people depending on you, you can’t help people when you’re broken and tired. Find the strength to do what needs to be done to make sure you are healthy mentally and physically. Don’t let anyone around you knock you off track when you begin, isolate yourself for a while if need be. But do it. Don’t wait another day to get your life in order. Life is precious and short. If you were waiting for a sign to take that step, here it is 🙌🏾 GO FOR IT. Do it scared, do it tired, do it not knowing how it will get done. JUST DO IT!!! A short video and a little inspirational message at the end. I was reading Ecclesiastes that morning and it really made me think about life. It really is an enigma. You just never know what will happen, you have no control over any outcome, you just have to surrender the unpredictability and have the resolve to roll with the punches everyday. Ups and downs in life can be tiring and make you wanna give up. But we have to remember such is life, such is the human condition, there will be good days and bad days. That doesn’t mean we shouldn’t try everyday to enjoy life, just don’t try and figure it out, because there are not constants in this thing 🤷🏾‍♀️Trust the process, no matter what it looks like, trust that it’s all working out in your favor 🙌🏾. Your purpose is waiting for you, so fight for it 🙌🏾 I love you, now GO LOVE YOURSELF 💜

**ISSA SWIPE** So I was looking for a specific photo on Getty images and ended up going down the rabbit hole! That first photo was my very first TCA, I didn’t even know what a TCA was 🤦🏾‍♀️ I knew nothing about makeup or red carpets, got the dress from Macy’s, bought that wig from a beauty supply store and we put some curls in it 😂🤣 As I scrolled the photos I could feel nothing but gratitude! I’ve done some cool stuff!!! Sang with Patti and Lil Kim, did an original song on a nationally syndicated tv show, Met legends, was on the West End, and even co hosted a red carpet for an award show! Sometimes you have to take a trip down memory lane and see how far you’ve come! Do it, I dare ya 🙌🏾 encourage yourself today 😊😌

Couple of things I want to point out in this video: 1) I have always had trouble with my knees and couldn’t do a squat to save my life but now, IM COMING FOR YOU @theestallion 🤷🏾‍♀️ 2) I didn’t take any breaks during my sets 😩🙌🏾 3) I am working on lowering my butt during my planks, but I did a minute and a half today! I’ve never done that many that long! 4) yes I’m studying lines during my workout because NO EXCUSES!! 5) yes that’s me singing and it’s an old demo 6) @fitemfitness is a hater DONT @ ME! 😂 Love y’all, start your week off strong 💪🏾

People love to show their pretty polished videos, but sometimes ISSA STRUGGLE! After a short break because of work, and just LIFE! I’m back at it! These are mostly new movements I tried for the first time today. These workouts are getting harder and harder! But my stamina is getting better and better! And so is my confidence 💪🏾 I’m learning that doing things I may not get so easily the first time, is really building my character and my resolve to grow into a better ME. So enjoy watching my knees buckle, watch me give up and start again, and dance, laugh, and smile my way to the end! I seriously don’t ever wear a lot of jewelry. But I love this bracelet from @eleven60 with my favorite verse on it. Joshua 1:9 “This is my command—be strong and courageous! A Story: Once upon a time, I met this incredible woman on this show called Glee. She was a guest star who played my character’s bestie, it was one of her first tv roles, and she crushed it. We went on to become actual friends in real life and I’ve watched her career and HER blossom.
