The sun doing it’s final sink of the decade and getting ready for the first sunrise of the 20’s! 🕐Last year my New Years was sad and was filled with tears (that I didn’t post about) and for several months into 2019 I was feeling very depressed, my heart was hurting, I was sad & emotionally worn out. I didn’t post about how sad I was or how horrible my first day into 2019 felt. But... If you are feeling that way, I want to encourage you that I couldn’t have imagined my next New Years would be so much more amazing... Last New Year’s time, I was alone on my mom’s couch, sometimes crying... This New Years: I am in Maui, feeling full of hope & happiness as I watched the afterglow of the final sunset of 2019 with my love @doctorford ❤️ So thankful for how different & how much better this New Year was and how I had no clue that I’d find my love @doctorford , and that there would be happiness and hope, that God had waiting for me up ahead that I could see last year❤️ I know someone reading this is going to be blown away by all the amazing things, new direction, dreams coming true, blessings opening up, answers to prayers and true love that will be found in 2020! This is my dad. Today is his birthday. He is in heaven, but today is the day he was born and I’m so thankful he was born & I’d get to have him as my dad. He taught me to always make everything fun, even when everything goes wrong or something bad happens, to just laugh and say you’re making memories. He taught me to always leave everyone better off and happier than before they came in contact or interacted with you. He was the most fun, funny, jokester, life of the party, compliment giver & hard worker. He always encouraged me and made me feel like I could do anything. I miss so many things about him, from his hugs to hearing his laugh (he was always laughing) to his funny, inspiring or motivational texts he’d send me. He always said “make today better than yesterday”, no matter how awful your yesterday was, just make today a little better! My dad used to send me the Paul Simon song that says, “there will never be a father that loves his daughter more than I love you”...I listened to it as tears of love for my dad slid southwards down my face❤️I’m thankful I have, I don’t like the sound of “had” because he is and always will be my dad, a dad that I love so much. I’m thankful for every day, message, note & memory I have with my dad & that he was born on this day and that I’d get to be his daughter. Thank you so much to the @streamys- The Oscars of @youtube...for giving me a reason to get all extra fancy. 6 THINGS... 1️⃣This girl, 12-13 years ago, was defeated by life, felt that all hope was gone, had been a freelance makeup artist for years but lived somewhere where makeup wasn’t needed, lived through some pretty awful situations and had less than a dollar in the bank. Today and everyday I am so thankful for my @doctorford AKA Ian Ford, there are not enough words to express how my heart feels about him and what a blessing he is to my life but I’m going to write a few here in an attempt to describe just a tiny bit of what he means to my heart: He is the funniest, most fun, sweetest, most handsome, most caring, thoughtful, brilliant, witty, always prepared, great at fixing any problem or finding a solution to anything, creative, (also, stylish and not just because of I was a guy I’d dress like him😂 and my friend really said “he’s like the man version of you!”) human being. But he lights up every room he walks into, makes everywhere fun and he loves me like no one ever has. We have the same sense of humor, the same depth of caring & loving...and we literally can finish each other’s sentences. He’s encouraging, supportive, so talented at everything he does and everything he touches has the fingerprints of his originality. He is literally great at everything & he’s one of the smartest & most intelligent people I know. He speaks multiple languages, studied business, hosted a show & car events with his fun personality, he sings great, loves cars and things (which I love & grew up with from my dad and grandpa). He’s great at everything from extreme sports to bowling to making my heart feel more loved, cherished, adored and protected than it ever has...I found more than my dream man, because he’s beyond what I ever dreamed of. He was the missing puzzle piece to my heart and I am so thankful & grateful that God blessed me with him...because he truly feels heaven sent to be the most perfect person to love me and me to love him❤️ He’s a one-Of-a-kind, amazing soul, that not only makes me feel the most loved but that my heart feels the safest with in his hands. Please read past these first few sentences... I was so honored to host the @aiaawards show for the 2nd time with my friend @patrickstarrr ... But what I want you to know, Beyond feeling like a Barbie doll after @tonywonderhandsss made this amazing wig (and glued it to my scalp because I would’ve had no hair if we tried to go this platinum again) and @bpalestino styled the wig to look like Barbie dream hair. And after @paintedbyspencer truly painted my face beautifully so I I could go over every last minute detail before the show. And after @michaelcostello designed this amazing shorter version of the dress I wore to host the show (pictures coming soon!)... I want you guys to know that even though you see pictures where it looks like peoples lives or maybe even my life looks amazing, fun or “perfect”...the truth is, no one sees or posts all the moments that are truly hard or filled with tears. Last week I felt very overwhelmed, was very stressed out, and like I was a failure, which led to lots of tears. I want to share this with you, to let you know that we all have hard days, we all deal with moments of feeling like life feels too hard at times or overwhelming. I want you to know in those moments, go easy on yourself, know you’re not alone- we ALL feel that way at times. But remember, your success story will never be great if it doesn’t involve the hard times that you made it through. You, push through every hardship, remind yourself you’re stronger than you or anyone knows. And tell yourself: “I can do this! I’m gonna get through this and I’m gonna come out stronger!” Know that you’re not alone... Know that your best day with the greatest news could be tomorrow or a month from now. Know that your heart will get stronger after you’ve lost a loved one...the strength of their love grows larger in your heart and is with you. Know that your outlook of hope and looking for the good side of things will literally change your day & life. Know that really being thankful for every little thing, even that you’re alive today because there are people fighting just to live one more day. Sometimes the hardest days come right before our greatest breakthroughs & blessings.

From the second we met, I felt like I’d always known him and my heart felt like it was home. Falling in love with him, made me realize I never really knew what true love felt like. Beyond making me laugh all the time and my friend saying he’s like the “man version” of me (style wise 😂), being sure we could finish each others sentences 97% of the time, he has comforted, reassured, supported, cared about, encouraged, loved me & made me feel loved like I’ve never felt before. I have been really hurt in the past, and with empathy & understanding he’s only wanted to fill my heart back up with love, comfort & reassurance. I could go on writing for far longer than Instagram will allow & one day we’ll share the story of how we met (it wasn’t on a dating app) and I will romantically ramble on about how amazing he is to me because I’ve already deleted a couple paragraphs for fear I wrote a small book🙈😁 You all know my lil’ heart has just been waiting, to pour all the love I’ve had in my heart and to be cherished, adored and loved back with all the magnitude of what my heart has to give & I’ve finally found him❤️ Ian...I’m thankful for every imperfect path, broken road, lost dream, twist & turn, every failed relationship, rejection & heartbreak, because all those “broken roads, led me straight to you”...you’re my best friend. You make me feel safe in the world and I couldn’t thank God more for letting me find you & for being the most amazing person that was always up ahead, waiting for me, that I just couldn’t see yet❤️

I don’t normally post my outfits of the day...because I don’t dress like most girls on Instagram and would hear all about it in the comments😂 But I like how I dress, and I hope it inspires someone else to dress however you want. 6️⃣Things you need to know about this picture: 1️⃣ The year was 2001 (so, super #TBT) 2️⃣The lint and scratches on the picture are real. 3️⃣ I was growing my hair out, after seeing Erykah Badu with a beautiful shaved head on the red carpet of some awards show, and I decided at the commercial break that I too, wanted to be free of all my cumbersome hair!And at the commercial break, I went and cut all my hair off. And I remember the first person I saw was my dad, and he just looked at me and asked, “What did you do?!?”😂🤣😂🤣😂🙈 4️⃣I only cut my hair myself. 5️⃣This was the year (or 2000) when I really started my freelance makeup career on my own (not apprenticing) and booked my own jobs. My first tv show makeup at the MTV/VH1 studios in LA. 6️⃣Sometimes I could only afford mascara, eyeliner or lipliner makeup from the dollar store for my kit, but I’d save up and buy all the @maccosmetics I could get! ♥️It doesn’t matter how much money you have to start on a career path...just start with what you have, where you’re at, and don’t you dare give up or let anyone discourage you! #throwbackthursday #makeupartist #since #2001

This is Trish Geyling, one of the sweetest, gentlest, most loving and caring souls. She radiated with a beauty that was more than any eye could ever take in, but that you felt in your heart. Always caring and asking about others more than herself, even when her heart was going through so much, she was caring about others more than herself. I had just finished doing her makeup for a little fun makeover to try to brighten up a day of hers. This was us October 2017, shortly after Trish not only lost her 8 year old son Rudy, but was then diagnosed with ALS. ALS, slowly paralyses all muscle function, until the lungs don’t even function, but the person’s mind remains sharp and is just trapped inside a body they can’t move or communicate in. And despite that, Trish’s positive, joyful, sparkly attitude still shone brightly as her Hope was in God and the joy-filled, heaven that waited ahead & where she’d hold her Rudy again. Just days ago we got the news that Trish went to heaven. And I want her precious words of love, encouragement and the inspirational words of a soul dealing with so much grief, a disease with a fatal prognosis and her body literally shutting down while her mind remained the same...sweet, positive and full of love. I’ve posted this picture before, but I want you to know a few more things: 1. I was 14 years old and a Freshman in high school. 2. I thought this outfit was the coolest. 3. I loved these red Cross Colours jeans. 4. I hunted for a long time for these, never again seen, pointy toe, white @drmartensofficial 5. I was the “new girl” at a small town high school. 6. Several girls, at the small town high school, made fun of this outfit. 7. I didn’t really care because I wasn’t a fan of their sense of fashion, myself😂 8. I ate lunch by myself at first, for a while. 9. If you are in school and you ever see someone eating alone...I don’t care how different, “uncool”, not in your friend group they are...make it so it’s unacceptable to you, to see someone eating alone and not go ask them to join you and be a kind person to them. 10. If you see someone being bullied or picked on, stand up for them. Make a stand that it’s NOT OK to bully ANYONE, for ANY REASON. 11. If you are a parent and have kids, teach them to always look around for anyone alone, being left out or eating alone, to be kind and sit with them or invite them to “not be alone”. And to ask them questions about where they’re from, what they like to do...if you teach little ones how to be a friend and be kind, you’re making the world a kinder place. 12. You don’t have to have things in common or be just like someone to be kind. Be kind to everyone...it’s someone’s heart that matters more than how “just like you” they are. 13. Look for something good in everyone, regardless of if they dress like you, believe differently, or like other things. 14. You don’t know the hurt someone feels inside, the loneliness or rejection they might be battling...be the kind smile, friendly hello or warm invite to not sit alone. Let’s make this world a better place...by choosing to put more love into a hurting world that needs it more than ever😥🌍❤️

It’s 11:40pm on October 15, 2019...and exactly 1 year ago today I posted these photos from a day I was so grateful for and a blessing of an opportunity I never would’ve dreamed possible, many years before when I couldn’t imagine a bright light at the end of my tunnel. I remember thinking, I wish dad could see that I am on the cover of any magazine! And thank you to @localemagazine for making me feel special and asking my lil’ self to be on one of their covers. If anyone feels that they are going through a rough patch, hard time, feeling a little hopeless or just sad...know that I’ve been all those things and i want you to have hope that you have no idea the surprises up ahead that you can’t even see or imagine yet. And the rough patches are what are going to make your success story so much better and your successes feel so much sweeter💖 There’s no way I would’ve believed what was up ahead at all. I felt like a failure and that nothing good was going to happen in my life. But God knows the sparkling, beautiful blessings he has waiting just up ahead, around the corner in life, we can’t see yet. And sometimes those blessings sparkle so much more in your heart full of gratitude and savoring every moment...because your heart has known the hard times and it makes you celebrate the precious, beautiful things even more! 💖 Your beautiful, sparkling blessings...whether it’s a person, amazing opportunity or dream coming true...it could be right around the corner sooner than you think and greater than you can imagine. I literally didn’t see anything good happening in my future at one point...and then look what was waiting up ahead! I’m living proof! Today my mama @theshannonjohnson turns 60! On October 1st,my precious mom was born...the day the most beautiful, caring, selfless, creative, positive, encouraging, adventurous, kind hearted, will make friends with everyone-everywhere she goes, soul...that I just thank God for letting me have her for a mom...because she’s the type of mom I wish everyone could have❤️ I wouldn’t be who I am without the love, life lessons, inspiration, encouragement of every wild dream, way of dressing, haircut or color...she even put up with my phase of her coming home and I would’ve “surprise made-over” a bathroom and painted the walls a very “artful technique” and color in my childhood home!😂 She is grace, beauty, unending support, taught me to forgive easily and let go of the weight of holding onto hurt, taught me to look for the good in everyone, and find the positive in EVERYTHING. She’s been through a lot of pain and loss and has only come out with a more radiant, understanding, compassionate, loving heart. I don’t know what I’d do if you weren’t born mama...well I definitely wouldn’t be here!😂 I love you & you will always be the most familiar voice that makes me feel everything is ok❤️ I love you Mama! TONIGHT is the night!!! I’m so proud of my friend @lilly ...TONIGHT is the TV debut of her late night talk show on @nbc - @latewithlilly (she is taking over Carson Daly’s time slot at 1:35am)!!! WHY LILLY IS AMAZING: This woman...is not only a dear friend of mine, but one of the hardest working, multi-talented, good hearted, amazing souled humans out there. From being one of the first people to get 10 million subscribers on @youtube - to now 15 million, to her charity work to founding @spreadgirllove ...to years of sleepless nights of editing, writing, filming, hustling so hard I don’t know how her eyes were open. Many nights when I’d be up editing all night, then running to meetings on 45 minutes sleep...I knew Lilly had done the same on 35 minutes of sleep! She has faced so many hardships and keeps breaking down barriers and glass ceilings with her incredible work ethic and determination. She is so humble, thoughtful of others, could care less about fame or money, unless it can help her, help others. She’s a good friend that chooses friends based on the size of their hearts, not the size of their followers. She was one of the first people to offer her house to me I was evacuated with the fires. And in a space where people do things for clout & fame...Lilly just does things to make people laugh and help people.
