I sleep on my side. when I wake up, I have little sleep wrinkles on the side of my face. It is generally agreed upon that repeated applied pressure to the face like this can create lasting fine lines and wrinkles. an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure... so getting my beauty rest has taken on a whole new meaning with this pillow by @sleepandglow 🌿 it supports my head and neck while having a space carved out to relieve my skin from being pressed into the pillow all night which will help prevent premature fine lines. and it’s memory foam, so it’s already comfy. this is my friend Noah. in this photo I took of him and @johnnywhatmusic , they were in the studio finishing up Noah’s album. after poring over every detail for months, revisiting every part of every track until it was exactly to his satisfaction, it was finally finished. and on that exact day, Noah was tragically taken from us. there really aren’t words to describe the abject sorrow I feel at the loss of my friend or how I wish I could go back in time and change it. But I can’t. all I can do is ask you to think of Noah next time you consider driving under the influence. and I’d like to share this message from Noah’s beautiful family @birthmarc @lilybenardout & Marie: We are struggling to make sense of life at this time and have been overwhelmed by the love and support of friends, family, and those that have shared so many stories of affection for our beloved son, Noah whose life was tragically taken by a DUI driver on the night of Thursday August 1st, 2019. A selfish act of recklessness that has instantly affected all of our lives, and cut short his life in its prime.  Noah, as you all know was an incredible musician whose brand new music was just about to be released.  His passion and spirit was high.  He was ready to perform again.  Ready to infuse us all with his talent, infectious smile and the voice of an angel that drew everyone in with his lyrics and melodies.  After months and months and hours and hours of writing and recording and tracking and mixing and refining.  He was indeed ready. Until, an individual, driving under the influence, plowed through the intersection of Melrose Avenue and Martel, and according to reports, ran a red light, at high speed, slamming into another vehicle that sent it spinning onto the sidewalk where our beautiful son, Noah, was simply waiting to cross the road.  The force of the impact was so immense that it propelled him across the road, where he landed, and almost immediately died through blunt force trauma to his head. Police and news reports have detailed that the driver under the influenced was arrested, charged with vehicular manslaughter and has subsequently posted bail. (continued in comments)

SADDLE UP - story time ✨ my friends @tayehansberry @shivhanspics invited me to the premiere of @brianbanksmovie last night and I was excited to go because the story of @brianbanksfree ‘s life is nigh unbelievable and so very inspiring. he had found his life’s passion and purpose playing football when, at the age of 17, he was wrongly accused of rape and sent to prison. the @ca_innocence project worked diligently to help exonerate him and he went on to play in the NFL. this story illustrates so beautifully how indomitable the human spirit is when put to the test. the film is directed by Tom Shadyac (Ace Ventura, Liar Liar, Bruce Almighty) who, after a wildly successful career grossing $2 billion at the box office, suffered a near death experience after getting into a bicycle accident. this is the story he chose to come back and tell. it is phenomenal. If you’ve followed me for awhile, you know I have a passion for artisanal products- items that are slowly and lovingly made to be cherished forever. I am as guilty as anyone of consuming fast fashion though I am trying to quit the habit, so when I discover fashion lines such as @theziran I feel so passionately about doing whatever I can to spread the word. Kelly, the designer of @theziran , sources her xiang yun sha silk in China. It is made by hand, in one town, in small batches of 15 yards at a time. It has been done this way for 500 years and the folks making silk for @theziran are the last to retain this tradition. the line is sustainable and minimally impactful on the environment and to be honest... it’s just so chic. I felt so sexy in this outfit and knowing that it didn’t come from a factory or employ child or slave labor to find its way on to my body made it feel so much sexier. the line looks great on EVERYONE. ✨✨✨ the gorgeous jewels are by LA designer @ammaniijewelry ✨✨✨ I wanted to be very intentional dressing myself for this red carpet and I hope to continue that in the future. The Rose Quartz Goddess Facial by @angelacagliaskincare was one of the most divine facials I’ve had. I’m very particular about where I get facials because there are so many different approaches to this practice and not just when it comes to products and procedures, but you are also exchanging energy with another human. They are very close in your space and applying things to your face which can be a sensitive experience. I can’t take an esthetician trying to sell me packages or products I don’t need, telling me my skin is woefully in need of their services or being abrasive in technique or tone, which is unfortunately an oft-used business tactic in this field. I couldn’t recommend Angela or her products more highly. Her vibe is so, so right and the products are beautiful. So far I am using and loving her gua sha tools (of her proprietary design, they are shaped like knuckles to mimic a massage), her bio cellulose Facial in a Mask which is beautifully brightening and firming, and her detox serum which is great for anyone who experiences breakouts, as it is moisturizing, purifying + contains tea tree oil to kill the bacteria that causes breakouts. THEY’VE ARRIVED!! my @livecandid aligners are here and I can’t WAIT to start correcting my smile. I didn’t have braces growing up so I’m fortunate that my smile is as straight as it is, but I want it to be straighter. This is something I’ve wanted to do for years and I am so glad I finally took the plunge. #livecandid could not have made it easier. for our time on Mallorca, we rented an electric vehicle. I’ve taken to choosing electric vehicles on vacation because I believe it’s the right thing to do, although I don’t have one at home (yet) ((goals)) — you may be able to tell by the slightly pained expression on my face in this photo, but keeping this electric vehicle charged was a pain in the ass. chargers were fairly abundant but rarely worked, and when they did, the vehicle would sometimes indicate upwards of 5 hours charging time! we couldn’t charge it at our hotel overnight. So, much of our holiday consisted of scrambling about, trying to keep our car moving. it made us really considerate of where we would drive on the limited range of charge we had, as we couldn’t just fill up with gas whenever we needed. So while it was a bit of a nightmare, I would still make that choice again. I like that environmentally- friendly choices force one to be more present. your choices become intentional, you begin to think, “do I really need this?!” instead of rabidly consuming. same goes for bringing your own beverage container and bringing your own grocery bags. they encourage intentional living, and I like that. I like that a lot.
