This was one of my favorite moments from the unforgettable Montana wedding of @charles_post and @rachel.pohl. Charles and I have been best boys for well over a decade. About 3 years ago we set out to form @the_natureproject to try and spread our shared love of time spent outdoors with the inner-city kids who need that relationship the most. To date we have connected over 1000 underserved kids with professional athlete mentors in beautiful outdoor settings from the San Juan’s to the Marin Headlands. The battle to scale @the_natureproject has been hard on the friendship as we are putting everything we can into the project. But we learned you just keep fighting to make the things happen that you care about most and your real, closest friends will do the same. We’re now in a place where The Nature Project is set to have a huge year in 2019 and we have gotten to find some time to surf and hike as boys outside of work. I couldn’t be happier for @charles_post to find his favorite person @rachel.pohl and for them to carve out their life in Montana! This post is about 4 months overdue, but was an unbelievably hard one to throw up. I recently retired from the NFL and am moving on to the next chapter in my life. I got to live every kids dream for 6 years playing ball and as hard as it is to walk away after some unfortunate injuries, I have no right to be anything but grateful. There is an unrivaled amount of love in my heart for all the coaches, family, friends and fans that supported me over the years. But most importantly filled with respect + love for the brothers that I shared the blood, sweat, and memories with... Those years in Seattle will always be some of the best in my life. Sunday was truly a soul fulfilling experience for @charles_post and I... We had our dream event for @the_natureproject! We recruited @kj_wright34 @bmaxx_41 @iamsrice @samkokoska to be Nature Project Athletes and hop on a seaplane to visit with over 500 kids at @ymcaseattle’s very special @camporkila! We had to the chance to spend quality time with them, fully immersed in nature, talking about the importance of creating physical memories with friends outdoors. We are so grateful to everyone involved including @rei @martinleblanc... and our killer behind the camera @tobinsanson!
