Who wants to sign my petition to make wearing rashies and prioritising sun protection cool 🙋🏼‍♀️☀️📝 I think a lot of people assume that you’re self conscious about your body if you wear them, or they just think they’re daggy, and I was one of those people! I wore them when I was younger because I was unconfident, and then when my confidence grew I avoided them because they weren’t cool. It’s only now that I’ve gone out and purchased this one (from @kmartaus) because my skin is so sensitive to the sun and having to constantly reapply sunscreen is a nuisance (especially to that area where it’s hard to reach and awkward to apply to your chest). I still wear sunscreen everywhere else (and so does @reeceddaniel), and depending on what I’m doing I might still opt for a bikini, but it’s a lovely feeling not caring about something so trivial and silly like how I’ll look when I’m being sun smart 🙄😂

The newest episode of the @mentalmakeoverpodcast is a chat between @karissapukas and I, discussing why we once hated each other and how we came back from it ☮️🤜🏻🤛🏻 More context: @karissapukas and I have an interesting past. We first connected online back in 2011, and met in person in 2013. We filmed two videos together, one at my house in Perth and another in Sydney with Shannon, Chloe and myself (who remembers?!). All was well until it... wasn't. Something happened (tune in to find out what) and that was the end of our friendship. I blocked Karissa from everything and she unfollowed me right back. I'm a grudge holder, so I genuinely thought that was the end of that chapter for good. It wasn't until I heard from Karissa years later that we were able to reconnect and go over what happened between us; this time with a bit more maturity at our disposal. This episode goes into all of the nitty gritty details about why Karissa was mad at me, why I was mad at her and how we came to a resolution years later. We've both learnt so much over the years and came to discover that we actually have way more in common now, then we ever did before. Scrolling back through my archives and finding stuff like this from back when I started YouTube really makes me stop and think how surreal it is to be where I am today. I’ve been in a Colgate TV commercial. Like... what? My face was all over Sydney and Melbourne as part of a huge YouTube campaign, one video of me was on the biggest digital billboard in the Southern Hemisphere. Sometimes I can’t help but roll my eyes when people are like i wAs jUsT a SmALL tOwN gUrL wItH bIg DrEaMs;;__xx when they do these posts cos when everyone starts saying that it begins to lose impact and meaning (even though it’s true), but I really am a small town girl who had big dreams. No just kidding but the odds that my life would take this path were so unbelievably low it’s CRAZY to me that I got even 10% as far as I did. Ohhh I’d love to do a podcast ep on that whole journey one day. Totally like a movie, where they pluck some super naive and inexperienced (with life) girl and push her into the public eye and watch her stumble along the way until she finds her feet 🤣 I honestly think my life could have gone one way or the other during these last 9 years - my major insecurities could have been exacerbated and I would have crumbled from that pivotal year I lived in Sydney, or I could have had some mini crumbles and somehow managed to hold it together and come out better for it. Thankfully the latter is true, but I digress 😂 💫 I don’t normally like the word ‘lucky’, as I believe (credit to Oprah for this one) “luck is preparation meeting the moment of opportunity”. I believe I created this life for myself, before I even knew what the law of attraction was. It’s been working in my life for as long as I can remember, and I credit everything good (and bad, which ends up being good; I’ve got podcast eps on what that means) to it! 🙏🏻 I just uploaded a new episode on @mentalmakeoverpodcast about how you can use it successfully in your life, and common mistakes to avoid. MAKEUP CHAT 💄💬 What foundation do you guys wear the most often? At the moment I’ve been reaching for the original Fenty one every time I do my makeup! I also like the new hydrating formula, but since my skin has been getting thrashed by my hormones recently I actually don’t need the extra hydration or glow 😅 Isn’t it so crazy to think about our makeup phases? Here’s a plot twist: you’re probably gonna have cellulite, stretch marks, dimples, rolls and jiggly bits no matter how healthy you eat, how often you work out or how many calories you restrict yourself to. The sooner you accept that, the sooner you can buy that bikini you’ve been waiting years to ‘look good’ in (another plot twist: you already look good in it), the sooner you can put yourself out there and meet someone, the sooner you can show your daughter what it means to believe in her own beauty, and the sooner you can simply live your life right here in this moment. It’s simple, and the only person complicating it is you. I was crippled by body image issues as an 18 year old who weighed around 48kg. Crazy, right? I surrendered every ounce of control I had over my own self esteem to the opinions of others, and the funny part is, they probably never had an opinion in the first place. If you can’t embrace your body the way it is right in this moment - you’re never going to be happy with it. Why? Because it’s forever changing. Shrinking, widening, sagging, tightening, toning, loosening; as long as your happiness depends on it looking a certain way, you’ll always be chasing something you’ll never be able to hold on to. Here’s a cool fact: you’re alive, so your body is working. It’s doing what it’s meant to. Sure, it might be just pulling through, or maybe you’re healthier than ever, but your body is doing everything in its power to keep you here. Let’s stop pointing out its flaws and start appreciating its beauty, because there is SO much of it 💫❤️
