She’s baaaaack! 😼 As some of you may have seen in Milla’s stories yesterday... little lady went in for her two month check-up regarding her severe food allergy/plasma cell pododermatitis. It was overall positive news with no allergic flare ups since her last visit. With less and less medication and her health back to what it once was, we don’t need another visit until end of summer now. 🤞🏼 If she continues to do well thereafter, we will just need to take her in every 6 months! 🥰😻💕 Thanks to @mashdermvet for all your care and getting Milla back to good health. ❤️ #millathecat #CatWithNineLives

🎶She’s feeling so good, we knew that she would!🎶 😺 The change in Milla in the past two weeks has been nothing but miraculous! The E-COLLAR has left the building ladies and gentleman ✔️ All remaining internal med test results came back positive ✔️ Bacterial skin infections have disappeared ✔️ Ear infection cleared ✔️ IBD diagnoses being treated with a new hypoallergenic diet ✔️No forms of cancer found ✔️ Skin being treated and that shiny coat is starting to return ✔️ And most importantly... we are seeing the happy, healthy & playful Milla we’ve all grown to love and that is PRICELESS! 💞 Side Note: This Silver Vine Dental Twig is giving her LIFE! 😹 #MillaTheCat #FeelingSoGood #SundayFunday #CatWithNineLives

Spring has SPRUNG and so has our little MILLA! 🌸😺🌸 Her GI histopathology results came in and there were no traces of cancer! Her results are consistent with Inflammatory Bowel Disease. Despite being diagnosed with IBD, this is great news as this is something that can be treated and the fact that cancer can now be ruled out for her current issues she’s been dealing with. Her skin infections have been getting significantly better with her medications and she is now on a hypoallergenic diet, which should help with her over all health and IBD. We will monitor her diet for the next 2-3 weeks and re-assess if there is a significant change in her IBD. From there we will know if we need to consider medication or not. For now she will continue wearing her fashionable flower cone as her skin is being treated with several creams and ointments to tackle her affected areas. Things are definitely looking up for Milla and we could not be happier! Once again, our little lady defies all odds and by the looks of this video... is started to get back to her old (yet youthful spirit) self! 💕 #MillaThCat #catwithninelives

There’s that cute little googly eyed face we all love to see! 🥰 It’s been almost a week (still waiting on Milla’s endoscopy results) but her recovery from all her skin conditions in the past two weeks have improved immensely! It’s been a month + of her not being her normal Milla self and today we saw her up and playful as ever. We got tired of that plain old plastic “cone of shame” and upgraded her to something more comfortable and fabulous! 💅🏼😺👑 Thanks for all your encouraging words and support. Milla is back home tonight from her endoscopy procedure! ❤️ She’s still a bit woozy and lethargic from the anesthesia, but she’s already bounding back and happy to be home... half shaved fur and all! 😺 I’ll keep it short and sweet this time. She started the day off seeing her dermatologist with promising news showing her skin issues are improving. From there she went into internal medicine for her endoscopy. They did find some issues in her small intestine, which can be an inflammatory disease to worse case scenario, low grade lymphoma. We will get her full results within 4 to 5 business days. 🤞🏼🙏🏼🤞🏼Thank you all for all the love, support and helpful advice in the last post. Always appreciate you all. ❤️ #Millathecat

Milla's account has been a bit quiet lately and I wanted to give you an update on her health. For the past 3 months, Milla has been experiencing several health issues and we are still trying to figure out exactly what is going on with her. Initially we believed it to be airborne allergens that was causing her severe dry skin, ear infections and respiratory issues. In January she started immunotherapy along with an Atopica and antihistamine. For a few weeks things appeared to be getting better, but soon after other issues began to develop. She began losing her fur, paws began to dry out and crack, respiratory issues became more prominent and was very lethargic. She has had several visits with her main veterinarian, dermatologist and now internal medicine in the past few months. Last week we rushed her to the hospital as she began to have some sort of bacterial skin rash along with large patches of fur loss. During this visit a bacterial culture was submitted along with a skin biopsy by her dermatologist. In the same day she was sent to Internal Medicine for an abdominal ultrasound. The bacteria collected showed a highly antibiotic resistant strain of staph bacteria (Staphylococcus Pseudintermedius) from the sample. Fortunately we were given a safe, topical antibiotic called Mupirocin, to help treat this. She is also taking Doxycycline and Entederm cream for her skin treatment. Internal medicine’s ultrasound results showed some issues within her small intestinal wall. In order to know exactly what it is, Milla will need to undergo an endoscopy (a procedure in which a small camera is introduced into the body to view her small intestines) this week. Those results will give us critical prognostic and treatment information. As of right now, Milla could possibly have an inflammatory disease or worst case scenario, low grade Lymphoma (cancer of the lymph nodes). Due to whatever is happening in her small intestines, her immune system is very low causing all of these skin issues to surface. We are also still waiting on Milla’s skin biopsy results, which we should be receiving any day now. (Continued in comments) 😺

Update: So doctors order that I stay in bed indefinitely... or maybe that’s my own regimen I’ve decided to give myself. 😹 Jokes aside, my allergy test results came back showing that I have allergens to several weeds, grasses, house dust and even feathers. 🙀 With this information my dermatologist has created injectable antigens that i am taking every other day to help my body with hypersensitivity to these allergens. Immunotherapy is the safest means of managing these symptoms of allergic disease long term, but it also can take several months to reach efficacy. My Atopica and antihistamine medication in the mean time should help with short term efficacy. Thanks you MASH Metropolitan Animal Hospital (@mashdermvet ) Dr. Eva Schmidt and staff for all your help, knowledge and care. We definitely feel like we are on the right path to Milla’s recovery.
