From the most challenging times comes our biggest growth. I’ve been saying this for a while but now is the time for this to really play out. How are you filling your time? How are you staying healthy and happy in these bizarre times? ⁠ It's a very strange time in the world right now. However, although I think it’s important to be following the guidelines, washing hands often, cleaning surfaces, not touching your face and just being generally more self aware - I also think it is super important to not jump straight into the drama of the unknown and become fearful and stressed. ⁠ There's scientific proof that by putting your body into stress and fear, you actually weaken your immune system because it feels as though you are fighting an external battle and it has less energy to fight off anything in your internal world. Try and find a way to stay calm and keep your internal world as healthy as possible in order to strengthen your immune system. Although I tried to switch off from work a little on my travels - there’s something so lovely about the feeling of missing what I do. ⁠ Creating EnergyRise has been such an incredible experience the past year. After a very eventful and exciting January/February, starting 2020 off with so many incredible collaborations and new work opportunities - it’s time to take a little rest and make space to celebrate. I'm heading off on holiday to make sure I’m finding that work/life balance. ⁠ ⁠ I always find that when you step away from your daily routines and rest, you feel more creative and this is when the magic happens. Be kind. As we’ve seen through this weekends sad news, words can be powerful. ⁠ We need to be aware of the impact of the words we put out. It can be easy to forget the feelings of the person on the receiving end when you’re sat behind a screen. Let’s start counterbalancing the negativity that is out there by putting out a whole lot of positivity and lovely comments. ⁠ When you come online start looking for things that inspire you, things that are beautiful to you and things that make you feel good and leave a positive comment telling that person how it made you feel. Positive words can be equally as powerful. ⁠ ⁠ Let’s look out for each other rather than attacking or searching for the things that make us feel bad. ⁠ Be kind. Do you journal? Writing can be the most incredible way to unscramble your thoughts and unlock your creativity. ⁠ I like to write first thing in the morning before I'm properly conscious without the intention of ever reading it back. ⁠ It doesn’t need to make sense or be perfect, it can be a jumble of words on the page but you'll probably surprise yourself with what comes out. ⁠ I find a sense of clarity and focus come out of my morning pages. Warrior II Pose. ⁠ This pose can be practiced at any level and has so many benefits for the body. It stretches and strengthens the legs and ankles, increases stamina, relieves backache and stretches groin, chest and shoulders. ⁠ It also helps you to feel grounded and centred. ⁠ ⁠ Sometimes I think people get put off yoga because it can look complicated, unachievable and that you need to be able to twist your body into all kinds of unusual positions but yoga is actually a union of mind, body and soul. Start exactly where you are, with poses that feel good in your body and BREATHE. I hope you're all staying safe this Sunday? I've taken the storm as a sign to switch off and stay in!⁠ ⁠ I love nothing more these days than being a student and learning. I think it’s so important for your mind to keep expanding and to challenge your own way of thinking. ⁠ The subject that fascinates me the most is psychology. What makes us who we are and the workings of the mind and body. I think this has always been at the centre of everything I do. From the fascination of creating a character in my acting to mindfulness (meditation and yoga), which is about looking internally at the workings of the mind and body. The way we treat others is usually the way we’re treating ourselves internally. For example, if you feel you look at people and really judge how they look and behave, you are no doubt doing the same to yourself inside. And if you’re pretty understanding and accepting of others, you are usually more of that to yourself too.⁠ ⁠ How kind or loving are you to those around you? Use it as a guide to discover how loving you are to yourself. Switch your internal dialogue and your external perception will change too. ⁠ ⁠ Also when you are treated badly by someone else, realise they are probably being as hurtful towards themselves. ⁠ ⁠ I find it fascinating what we can find out about ourselves through becoming aware of our unconscious behaviour patterns. STOP!! Stop scrolling and take a moment to slow down and breathe. Take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your mouth. ⁠ ⁠ When was the last time you took a conscious breath? If you can’t get out into nature to brighten your mood, bring the nature to you. I always feel like a house becomes even more of a home with a few plants in it. We know that being out in nature can have a huge impact on our happiness levels but living in a big city sometimes your surroundings are more concrete walls rather than greenery. ⁠ I was reminded of the delightful benefits of plants while speaking at the launch of @botanicsuk new #simplycalm launch last week. Finding Balance - have you found yours? ⁠ ⁠ This January seems to be full speed ahead for most of us, leaving the Christmas break as a distant memory. We come into the start of a year full of energy (from copious amounts of roast potatoes and wine), New Years resolutions and positivity but sometimes as the weeks go by, it can be easy to slip back into old behavioural patterns and get caught in those January Blues. If you’re feeling it, take a moment to STOP and BREATHE. Slow yourself down in order to notice what the body really needs to find it’s happy balance. I'm spending the next week at @drjoedispenza advanced meditation workshop. I’m excited to be challenging my mind in new ways and learning a new method of meditation and the latest scientific research that supports it. ⁠ I have a huge interest in finding out the science behind mindfulness. What is actually happening in the body when we practice and what are the benefits? Every time I practice yoga, meditation or mindfulness in any form, I am left feeling better both physically and emotionally. ⁠ I often don’t know why but I am aware that something is shifting in my body. Climate change is real and Australia is currently on fire. It feels like a very strange time in the world right now and although as one single person it can feel like we’re a little bit helpless to do anything about it, if we do nothing then nothing changes. ⁠ The Earth is responding to what we are doing to it and it’s not happy. There are things we can do as individuals to start making a difference, like becoming aware of the carbon footprint we are individually making and taking steps to improve the way we are travelling and eating. ⁠ But right now Australia needs our immediate help, seeing the videos of helpless animals breaks my heart. What an incredible start to 2020 - seeing the New Year in with the best friends I could wish for, followed by running my first RECHARGE weekend retreat with @dylanayaloo?? It could not have been better, I absolutely loved it. We were in the most idyllic location, with the loveliest group of people, the most delicious food by @natishealth, guiding the group through an array of different yoga and meditation practices, reflecting on 2019 and setting our intentions for 2020. Meditation walks in ancient woods, evening meditations around a roaring bomb-fire, healing sessions and just generally starting the year full of positivity instead of January blues. ⁠ I feel truly lucky to do what I do and even luckier that I get to share it with so many lovely people. I'm feeling ready and excited for the rest of 2020. ⁠ ⁠ We'll be holding another New Year Retreat in 2021, get in touch if you’re interested in finding out more 🧘🏼‍♀️💕🧘🏼‍♀️. Happy New Year everyone. I'm looking forward to 2020 and the adventures that lie in store. It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!!⁠ ⁠ After travelling a lot this year, I'm loving being back in London to welcome Christmas in. And despite being wiped out by the flu 😷 this week, there is nothing more magical than a London Christmas. ⁠ ⁠ Not everyone has the same experience at Christmas time though and it can be a tough time for many. This Sunday (22nd Dec) I'm teaching a FREE heart opening yoga and meditation class at @lululemonuk Marylebone in collaboration with @fiercecalm to collect donations for The Care Pack, a charity that helps London's homeless survive the harsh winter months by donating backpacks containing items that will make most impact not just in terms of survival but also psychological wellbeing .⁠ ⁠ ⁠ The class will run from 10.30-11.30am at lululemon Marylebone. Booking on Eventbrite link in bio.⁠ ⁠ ⁠ We need your help in helping others! ⁠ For many the holidays are a time for festivities, fun & connection, however they can be a challenging time for many of us too. ⁠ All of us believe in the right to dignity and that especially at this time of year, small things such as deodorant and lip balm help to lift the spirits of someone who is going through an incredibly difficult time.⁠ ⁠ An essential item for women, that has not yet been included in the Care Pack are sanitary pads. What does happiness and joy look like to you? ⁠ ⁠ It’s forever changing in my world. I used to think it was something to be attained from outside of me but realise it’s actually something to create from within. One of the best parts of the silent retreat was slowing down my pace of life for a few days. Switching off from my phone entirely, not being able to read or write and having long stretches of time to just sit or walk without distraction. ⁠ I think it's getting more important to give ourselves time to consciously disconnect from distractions these days. It’s not until you put your phone down that you realise how attached you have become to it and how distracted it can make you. Try putting your phone away for an evening every now and again and notice how much more present you become to what is around you. I'm back from my 10 days of silence and WOW what a rollercoaster!⁠ Vipassana @vipassanaorg is a 10 day meditation course (not for the faint hearted!) but my word was it worth every moment. ⁠ ⁠ I spent 10 days in total silence, sitting for 10 hours a day in meditation. I experienced the highest highs and the lowest lows. Feelings of fear and uncertainty but also of pure joy and clarity. ⁠ My body went from being in unbearable pain to being able to sit for hours in blissful stillness. I realised that the body and mind are far stronger, more resilient and malleable that you think. I learnt that the unconscious mind is actually always conscious if you look closely enough. That pain and joy can co-exist. That both mind and matter are constantly changing so you don’t have to crave or avoid pleasant or unpleasant sensations because the feelings always change in the end. ⁠ ⁠ I went into Vipassana to get a deeper understanding of who I am at the centre and I came to the conclusion that there is no fixed version of ‘ME' to understand. We are constantly changing and evolving. Become present to who you are moment by moment with the knowledge that this too will change. It is the most liberating feeling. Feel the fear and do it anyway. ⁠ I used to duck away from the things that frightened me but recently I have decided to challenge myself to look fear straight in the eye and do it anyway. ⁠ Obviously there are still things that are rational to fear and I’m not going to do anything dangeous but I’m talking about recognising that some fear is actually just a fear of the unknown and often by stepping into that place, we have our biggest growth. ⁠ ⁠ This week I am going into a 10 day silent meditation retreat. 10 days of no talking, no reading, no writing, no technology or any other distractions. It’s just going to be me and my thoughts. ⁠ Until very recently the thought of this terrified me and I am still nervous but I know that on the other side I will be changed in some way and will have experienced something totally new that will strengthen me. Movement Meditation. ⁠ Have you ever tried it? ⁠ ⁠ This is one of my favourite practise to do myself but also teach. Reading, reading and more reading 📚 ⁠ I go through stages in my life where I read a lot and then other times I don’t pick up a book for months. Being told in my childhood that I had mild dyslexia always made reading a little daunting. As we creep closer to the end of 2019, I always find it helpful to reflect on what has happened this year. The good, the bad, the things I definitely don’t want to repeat and the things I want to do a lot more of. It’s also a great time to start looking ahead and planning what we want to happen next year. Imagine all of the amazing opportunities 2020 can bring both in work and life. Where would you dream of being at this time next year? We often get caught up on the things that aren’t great in our lives or what we don’t want to happen. Allow yourself to be guided. Sometimes we feel like we have to carry the weight of the world on our shoulders alone but we don’t. ⁠ Sometimes the bravest thing is to ask for help when you need it. Lean onto a friend who can hold you and ask those you trust for guidance. It’s the same with meditation. Sometimes it’s the most powerful thing to be able to sit with yourself in complete silence and just be with whatever is coming up but often it is helpful, especially at the start, to be guided into a meditation practice. Your hips don’t lie. The song says it well - did you know that the hips are the emotional centre of the body? ⁠ The hips are often where unexpressed or stuck emotion is stored. During a yoga practice, there is often a big emphasis on opening the hips and this is for a number of reasons - firstly in society today we are often closing down this area of the body, sitting at a desk etc so it’s important to give the body counter stretches to bring it back into balance. Also if the hips are tight this can often spread throughout the entire body, causing back problems and knee problems, so again lengthening and opening the muscles around the hips can prevent muscle tension elsewhere. It is also important to begin opening and exploring what emotions might be stuck in there. Emotions are energy in motion, so if we begin to move our body, the stuck emotions can travel through us and release. What are your daily rituals? ⁠ We all have rituals and routines that we do throughout our day but often we are doing them un-consciously. Waking up and making a tea or coffee, washing ourselves in the same way, checking our messages and emails, watching the news etc.. but have you stopped to think about if your rituals or routines, especially those done first thing in the morning, are actually setting you up to feel good for the rest of your day? ⁠ ⁠ What if you could make a routine into a ritual by becoming present to what you are doing and turning some of these behaviours into things that set you up for a calm, more focussed day? ⁠ ⁠ Here’s a suggestion to get started - Don’t check your phone for the first 30 minutes after you wake up, make your morning cup of tea or coffee and sit in silence while you drink it in your favourite place and allow this to become a conscious time to check in with how you actually feel. Become present to the taste and smell of your drink and bring your awareness to your breathing. Maybe even this small change could make a big impact on your day.⁠ ⁠ You can also take this further and begin to introduce a short 10 minute meditation practice into your daily routine. AND BREATHE…. The power of our breath never ceases to amaze me. The way we feel is directly related to how we are breathing. Change the breath and the feeling will change. The teaching behind all mindfulness practices stems from the breath - bringing awareness to the breath and changing it in order to achieve a new set of sensations in the body. When we are stressed or anxious, our breath is short and shallow. When we are super relaxed our breath is long a deep. So by becoming aware of your breathing and changing it, you can empower yourself to change how you feel. Is anyone else finding it hard at the moment to stay disciplined? ⁠ Even when I know something is really good for me and I should be doing it all the time, there are times that my body just resists doing it? ⁠ When this used to happen to me, I would get pissed off at myself for my lack of internal strength and then not want to do it even more. ⁠ ⁠ But I've been trying to find a way around these times of internal rebellion - instead of being annoyed with myself I give myself compassion and try to figure out why my body is resisting. Have you ever wanted to hold onto a moment in your life? Something that felt so special that you wish you could trap that feeling in and return back to it over and over again? ⁠ ⁠ Someone said to me recently 'in those moments, you should find yourself an anchor', something that will hold that feeling in it so you can access it whenever you want. An anchor can be a particular kind of movement (maybe tapping a certain area of the body) or an object.     How are you staying healthy and happy in these bizarre times? ⁠ It's a very strange time in the world right now. However, although I think it’s important to be following the guidelines, washing hands often, cleaning surfaces, not touching your face and just being generally more self aware - I also think it is super important to not jump straight into the drama of the unknown and become fearful and stressed. ⁠ There's scientific proof that by putting your body into stress and fear, you actually weaken your immune system because it feels as though you are fighting an external battle and it has less energy to fight off anything in your internal world. Try and find a way to stay calm and keep your internal world as healthy as possible in order to strengthen your immune system.     Be kind. As we’ve seen through this weekends sad news, words can be powerful. ⁠ We need to be aware of the impact of the words we put out. It can be easy to forget the feelings of the person on the receiving end when you’re sat behind a screen. Let’s start counterbalancing the negativity that is out there by putting out a whole lot of positivity and lovely comments. ⁠ When you come online start looking for things that inspire you, things that are beautiful to you and things that make you feel good and leave a positive comment telling that person how it made you feel. Positive words can be equally as powerful. ⁠ ⁠ Let’s look out for each other rather than attacking or searching for the things that make us feel bad. ⁠ Be kind.     Do you journal? Writing can be the most incredible way to unscramble your thoughts and unlock your creativity. ⁠ I like to write first thing in the morning before I'm properly conscious without the intention of ever reading it back. ⁠ It doesn’t need to make sense or be perfect, it can be a jumble of words on the page but you'll probably surprise yourself with what comes out. ⁠ I find a sense of clarity and focus come out of my morning pages.     Warrior II Pose. ⁠ This pose can be practiced at any level and has so many benefits for the body. It stretches and strengthens the legs and ankles, increases stamina, relieves backache and stretches groin, chest and shoulders. ⁠ It also helps you to feel grounded and centred. ⁠ ⁠ Sometimes I think people get put off yoga because it can look complicated, unachievable and that you need to be able to twist your body into all kinds of unusual positions but yoga is actually a union of mind, body and soul. Start exactly where you are, with poses that feel good in your body and BREATHE. I think it’s so important for your mind to keep expanding and to challenge your own way of thinking. ⁠ The subject that fascinates me the most is psychology. What makes us who we are and the workings of the mind and body. I think this has always been at the centre of everything I do. From the fascination of creating a character in my acting to mindfulness (meditation and yoga), which is about looking internally at the workings of the mind and body.     The way we treat others is usually the way we’re treating ourselves internally. For example, if you feel you look at people and really judge how they look and behave, you are no doubt doing the same to yourself inside. And if you’re pretty understanding and accepting of others, you are usually more of that to yourself too.⁠ ⁠ How kind or loving are you to those around you? Use it as a guide to discover how loving you are to yourself. Switch your internal dialogue and your external perception will change too. ⁠ ⁠ Also when you are treated badly by someone else, realise they are probably being as hurtful towards themselves. ⁠ ⁠ I find it fascinating what we can find out about ourselves through becoming aware of our unconscious behaviour patterns.     If you can’t get out into nature to brighten your mood, bring the nature to you. I always feel like a house becomes even more of a home with a few plants in it. We know that being out in nature can have a huge impact on our happiness levels but living in a big city sometimes your surroundings are more concrete walls rather than greenery. ⁠ I was reminded of the delightful benefits of plants while speaking at the launch of @botanicsuk new #simplycalm launch last week.     Finding Balance - have you found yours? ⁠ ⁠ This January seems to be full speed ahead for most of us, leaving the Christmas break as a distant memory. We come into the start of a year full of energy (from copious amounts of roast potatoes and wine), New Years resolutions and positivity but sometimes as the weeks go by, it can be easy to slip back into old behavioural patterns and get caught in those January Blues. If you’re feeling it, take a moment to STOP and BREATHE. Slow yourself down in order to notice what the body really needs to find it’s happy balance.     I'm spending the next week at @drjoedispenza advanced meditation workshop. I’m excited to be challenging my mind in new ways and learning a new method of meditation and the latest scientific research that supports it. ⁠ I have a huge interest in finding out the science behind mindfulness. What is actually happening in the body when we practice and what are the benefits?     Climate change is real and Australia is currently on fire. It feels like a very strange time in the world right now and although as one single person it can feel like we’re a little bit helpless to do anything about it, if we do nothing then nothing changes. ⁠ The Earth is responding to what we are doing to it and it’s not happy. There are things we can do as individuals to start making a difference, like becoming aware of the carbon footprint we are individually making and taking steps to improve the way we are travelling and eating. ⁠ But right now Australia needs our immediate help, seeing the videos of helpless animals breaks my heart.     What an incredible start to 2020 - seeing the New Year in with the best friends I could wish for, followed by running my first RECHARGE weekend retreat with @dylanayaloo?? It could not have been better, I absolutely loved it. We were in the most idyllic location, with the loveliest group of people, the most delicious food by @natishealth, guiding the group through an array of different yoga and meditation practices, reflecting on 2019 and setting our intentions for 2020. Meditation walks in ancient woods, evening meditations around a roaring bomb-fire, healing sessions and just generally starting the year full of positivity instead of January blues. ⁠ I feel truly lucky to do what I do and even luckier that I get to share it with so many lovely people.     Happy New Year everyone. I'm looking forward to 2020 and the adventures that lie in store.     It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!!⁠ ⁠ After travelling a lot this year, I'm loving being back in London to welcome Christmas in. And despite being wiped out by the flu 😷 this week, there is nothing more magical than a London Christmas. ⁠ ⁠ Not everyone has the same experience at Christmas time though and it can be a tough time for many.     This Sunday (22nd Dec) I'm teaching a FREE heart opening yoga and meditation class at @lululemonuk Marylebone in collaboration with @fiercecalm to collect donations for The Care Pack, a charity that helps London's homeless survive the harsh winter months by donating backpacks containing items that will make most impact not just in terms of survival but also psychological wellbeing .⁠ ⁠ ⁠ The class will run from 10.30-11.30am at lululemon Marylebone.     What does happiness and joy look like to you? ⁠ ⁠ It’s forever changing in my world. I used to think it was something to be attained from outside of me but realise it’s actually something to create from within.     One of the best parts of the silent retreat was slowing down my pace of life for a few days. Switching off from my phone entirely, not being able to read or write and having long stretches of time to just sit or walk without distraction. ⁠ I think it's getting more important to give ourselves time to consciously disconnect from distractions these days. It’s not until you put your phone down that you realise how attached you have become to it and how distracted it can make you. Try putting your phone away for an evening every now and again and notice how much more present you become to what is around you.     I'm back from my 10 days of silence and WOW what a rollercoaster!⁠ Vipassana @vipassanaorg is a 10 day meditation course (not for the faint hearted!) but my word was it worth every moment. ⁠ ⁠ I spent 10 days in total silence, sitting for 10 hours a day in meditation. I experienced the highest highs and the lowest lows. Feelings of fear and uncertainty but also of pure joy and clarity. ⁠ My body went from being in unbearable pain to being able to sit for hours in blissful stillness. I realised that the body and mind are far stronger, more resilient and malleable that you think. I learnt that the unconscious mind is actually always conscious if you look closely enough. That pain and joy can co-exist. That both mind and matter are constantly changing so you don’t have to crave or avoid pleasant or unpleasant sensations because the feelings always change in the end. ⁠ ⁠ I went into Vipassana to get a deeper understanding of who I am at the centre and I came to the conclusion that there is no fixed version of ‘ME' to understand. We are constantly changing and evolving. Become present to who you are moment by moment with the knowledge that this too will change. It is the most liberating feeling.     Feel the fear and do it anyway. ⁠ I used to duck away from the things that frightened me but recently I have decided to challenge myself to look fear straight in the eye and do it anyway. ⁠ Obviously there are still things that are rational to fear and I’m not going to do anything dangeous but I’m talking about recognising that some fear is actually just a fear of the unknown and often by stepping into that place, we have our biggest growth. ⁠ ⁠ This week I am going into a 10 day silent meditation retreat. 10 days of no talking, no reading, no writing, no technology or any other distractions. It’s just going to be me and my thoughts. ⁠ Until very recently the thought of this terrified me and I am still nervous but I know that on the other side I will be changed in some way and will have experienced something totally new that will strengthen me.     Movement Meditation. ⁠ Have you ever tried it? ⁠ ⁠ This is one of my favourite practise to do myself but also teach. Inspired by my amazing teacher @scottpicard I have created a unique path into meditation with a specially designed sound track through movement. Your body is where your truth lies. The brain can and does filter your experiences but the body holds every experience you’ve ever had within it.     Reading, reading and more reading 📚 ⁠ I go through stages in my life where I read a lot and then other times I don’t pick up a book for months. Being told in my childhood that I had mild dyslexia always made reading a little daunting.     As we creep closer to the end of 2019, I always find it helpful to reflect on what has happened this year. The good, the bad, the things I definitely don’t want to repeat and the things I want to do a lot more of. It’s also a great time to start looking ahead and planning what we want to happen next year. Imagine all of the amazing opportunities 2020 can bring both in work and life. Where would you dream of being at this time next year? We often get caught up on the things that aren’t great in our lives or what we don’t want to happen.     Allow yourself to be guided. Sometimes we feel like we have to carry the weight of the world on our shoulders alone but we don’t. ⁠ Sometimes the bravest thing is to ask for help when you need it. Lean onto a friend who can hold you and ask those you trust for guidance. It’s the same with meditation. Sometimes it’s the most powerful thing to be able to sit with yourself in complete silence and just be with whatever is coming up but often it is helpful, especially at the start, to be guided into a meditation practice.     Your hips don’t lie. The song says it well - did you know that the hips are the emotional centre of the body? ⁠ The hips are often where unexpressed or stuck emotion is stored. During a yoga practice, there is often a big emphasis on opening the hips and this is for a number of reasons - firstly in society today we are often closing down this area of the body, sitting at a desk etc so it’s important to give the body counter stretches to bring it back into balance. Also if the hips are tight this can often spread throughout the entire body, causing back problems and knee problems, so again lengthening and opening the muscles around the hips can prevent muscle tension elsewhere. It is also important to begin opening and exploring what emotions might be stuck in there. Emotions are energy in motion, so if we begin to move our body, the stuck emotions can travel through us and release.     What are your daily rituals? ⁠ We all have rituals and routines that we do throughout our day but often we are doing them un-consciously. Waking up and making a tea or coffee, washing ourselves in the same way, checking our messages and emails, watching the news etc.. but have you stopped to think about if your rituals or routines, especially those done first thing in the morning, are actually setting you up to feel good for the rest of your day? ⁠ ⁠ What if you could make a routine into a ritual by becoming present to what you are doing and turning some of these behaviours into things that set you up for a calm, more focussed day? ⁠ ⁠ Here’s a suggestion to get started - Don’t check your phone for the first 30 minutes after you wake up, make your morning cup of tea or coffee and sit in silence while you drink it in your favourite place and allow this to become a conscious time to check in with how you actually feel. Become present to the taste and smell of your drink and bring your awareness to your breathing. Maybe even this small change could make a big impact on your day.⁠ ⁠ You can also take this further and begin to introduce a short 10 minute meditation practice into your daily routine.     AND BREATHE…. The power of our breath never ceases to amaze me. The way we feel is directly related to how we are breathing. Change the breath and the feeling will change. The teaching behind all mindfulness practices stems from the breath - bringing awareness to the breath and changing it in order to achieve a new set of sensations in the body. When we are stressed or anxious, our breath is short and shallow. When we are super relaxed our breath is long a deep. So by becoming aware of your breathing and changing it, you can empower yourself to change how you feel.     Is anyone else finding it hard at the moment to stay disciplined? ⁠ Even when I know something is really good for me and I should be doing it all the time, there are times that my body just resists doing it? ⁠ When this used to happen to me, I would get pissed off at myself for my lack of internal strength and then not want to do it even more. ⁠ ⁠ But I've been trying to find a way around these times of internal rebellion - instead of being annoyed with myself I give myself compassion and try to figure out why my body is resisting.     Have you ever wanted to hold onto a moment in your life? Something that felt so special that you wish you could trap that feeling in and return back to it over and over again? ⁠ ⁠ Someone said to me recently 'in those moments, you should find yourself an anchor', something that will hold that feeling in it so you can access it whenever you want. An anchor can be a particular kind of movement (maybe tapping a certain area of the body) or an object.     PEACE AND BALANCE two of the things I think most of us wish we had more of in our lives. ⁠ These are the qualities of the gem stone Amethyst, which is also my birthstone.
