I finally get to put down in words the Rearranged experience. Even that word "rearranged" has so much meaning, as to what my years in LA have meant. It's a constant rearranging of who I am and what my goals are to work in Hollywood as my dreams continue to grow. Certainly, I am biased about Rearranged, but I am also going to be the biggest critic. Being my directorial debut, it was so meaningful to bring a diverse cast of mostly South Asians together, and put all that "brown" on film. Sure, the show talks about the Indian-American experience. But mostly, the characters are just people who happen to be Indian. And that's why this incredible cast got to make my words live more than I ever dreamed of. They got to be authentic versions of themselves and the magic we experienced while shooting was surreal. Everyone felt heard/seen. Most of the time we were pinching ourselves, is it work if we are this happy? YES! This is why we moved here! This was/is a special experience, and I can't wait for you to see what everyone brought to the table, because everyone equally made this the best product possible. And I am not trying to put the show on some sort of life-changing iconic status, it was a unique, creatively fulfilling experience that is going to be good.
