Raised Catholic I was always intrigued by the events of Holy Thursday. There was Jesus down on his knees washing his Apostles feet, the issuing of his new Commandment “Love one another as I have loved you”, the Last Supper celebration of Passover but with the “this is my body/this is my blood” twist, shocking his staunchest lieutenant Peter saying that Peter would deny he ever knew him before dawn, and telling Judas to go do what he must. Then there’s the Garden Of Gethsemane later that eve. Jesus asks his Apostles to stay awake with him as he is troubled. They all promptly fall asleep. Alone among the olive trees and moments away from his capture, torture and crucifixion Jesus has his “moment of doubt” (“Father, take this cup from my lips”) before faithfully acceding to God’s will and accepting imminent death. I’ve thought a lot about “moments of doubt” through the years and in 2001 when my friend @ChrisCornellOfficial who had been in a very bad way and had gone missing for over a month text me in the middle of the night out of the blue “If you swallow the coin from the wishing well, your dreams will come true in Heaven or Hell” I wrote this song “The Garden Of Gethsemane” for him. . It’s almost exactly 12 years ago that @springsteen, the mighty E Street Band and I rocked “The Ghost Of Tom Joad” together for the first time in Anaheim. Was an electric moment, surprising us all and on and off over the next 6 years I had the great pleasure of rocking with Bruce. Here’s some #FanArt to commemorate the anniversary. Rest In Peace #BillWithers. Obviously he was a tremendous artist and singer but I was surprised to find what a hilarious sense of humor Bill had when we spent some time together at his @rockhall induction ceremony a few years back. So thanks Bill for the laughs and for your beautiful, moving music.

Happy St. Paddy’s Day everyone. This week on my #OneManRevolution show on @siriusxm Lithium we celebrate rockers of Irish descent (Cobain, Cornell), great Irish bands (Thin Lizzy, U2) and learn how the courageous St.Patrick’s Battalion (Irish-American US soldiers who SWITCHED SIDES during the Mexican-American War) spawned my fave St.Paddy’s Day beverage, “The Jon Riley”. And yes I’m named after Thomas Fitzgerald, my great grandfather.

I’ve had many great memories rocking #SXSW through the years in churches, clubs, backyards, arenas, and in the streets, often with some good friends, and I was reminiscing tonight.

Due to the current outbreak and ban on public gatherings we will have to postpone the first part of our tour (March 26th-May 20th) with Run the Jewels. The safety and health of those who come to our shows is of utmost importance to us. All previously purchased tickets will be honored for newly scheduled shows. As it stands, the July and August tour is still on. We will be in touch about rescheduled dates.

On a positive note: judge orders hero Chelsea Manning released from jail.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY #DavidGilmour! Indisputably one of the greatest guitarists in rock history, and a damn great singer too. I remember loving Another Brick In The Wall Pt. 2 but thinking the solo should be more “metal”. Oh how wrong I was. It’s genius. The “Time” solo? Fuggettaboutit! All time classic. Perhaps none better for depth of feeling and melodic power. Dozens more. And his sometimes atmospheric (Crazy Diamond), sometimes unpredictably funky (Pigs), sometimes gorgeously acoustic (Wish You Were Here) rhythm playing is just as great. Thanks, David, have a great one.

@kissonline was my first concert and sent me, like so many others (including members of @toolmusic @pearljam @aliceinchains @soundgarden @lennykravitz @foofighters @nineinchnails etc etc), careening headlong down the path of rock n roll. Inducting them into the @rockhall was an honor. Great to see The Starchild @paulstanleylive rocking Staples Center HARD tonight on their farewell tour. (Kudos to @davidleeroth for sounding damn good opening the show.)
