Today @americaferrera and I went to volunteer with children at a shelter for unaccompanied minors. It was an experience I will cherish for the rest of my life. We laughed, played games, danced, and read books. These children were full of spirit and curiosity just like yours and mine! I want to thank all the counselors and teachers who wake up every day knowing that love, food and water, shelter and education are basic necessities that should never be denied to a child or any human. This rehearsal video is everything to me. We have been active supporters of each other’s work since we met- in fact, it was one of our vows to one another. But we never had worked together until @aliciakeys asked us to do this. Marco’s heart was bursting out of his chest because he was so nervous. My heart was bursting because I was gonna “dance” with him. We felt exposed, vulnerable, nervous, embarrassed at first. Then something magical happened, we surrendered. We were free!
